Reporting to the Head of Information Technology, the Manufacturing Systems Manager is responsible for leading the strategic planning, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of Manufacturing Systems platforms across the organisation.
As a key member of the IT Leadership Team, this role will ensure the effective alignment of Manufacturing Systems capabilities with business needs, drive standardisation across manufacturing sites, and support operational excellence, digital transformation, and Industry
What you will be doing:
- Develop and lead the Manufacturing Systems/MES strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business and IT objectives while maximising ROI and minimising disruption.
- Act as the key liaison between operations and IT, ensuring systems meet production, quality, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Ensure Manufacturing Systems are secure, reliable, scalable, and integrated with ERP, SCADA, PLC, and other OT/IT platforms, while governing system lifecycle and change control.
- Monitor and continuously improve system performance, support, and user adoption, ensuring issues are resolved within service levels and performance meets business expectations.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Manufacturing Systems projects, ensuring scope, budget, timelines, and IT change management standards are achieved across multiple sites.
- Build and develop a high-performing team, fostering accountability, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Ensure compliance and manage risk, maintaining regulatory, cybersecurity, and data integrity standards while proactively addressing system-related risks.

- Enhance operational performance, cybersecurity, compliance, and system reliability across the manufacturing network.

What you will bring:
- Over 10 years of experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), SCADA, and PLC systems within complex manufacturing environments.
- Advanced experience with design, implementation, maintenance, administration and support of Manufacturing Execution and Control Systems.
- Strong knowledge of Industry 4.0, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on practical application.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to IT standards and industry best practices to ensure quality and compliance.
- Proven leadership and team management experience in delivering complex technical solutions.
- Highly developed problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and continuously improve
