Sales and Business Development Manager
About the role
The Sales & Business Development Manager is responsible for the provision of timely, commercially competitive and profitable tender submissions and will be directly accountable for the commercial profitability of tendered submissions.
As a senior member of the Business Development team, you play an integral role in maintaining Ferretti International’s competitive edge in the market through your ability to foster strong relationships and exceptional negotiation skills.
This role will involve travel to Ferretti International’s Workshops in Adelaide and Whyalla along with interstate travel to client sites.
Key responsibilities include:

Build a budget and Business Development Plan to achieve business KPI’s & goals

Source new business opportunities tenders and contracts with new and existing clients

Contribute to the development, timely submission & securing of tenders and contracts

Ensuring accuracy in estimating & tender preparation resulting in profitable outcomes

Support project managers to deliver within agreed compliance standards & budget

Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure commitments to clients are delivered

Achieving Board and Executive agreed KPI’s & targets e.g. timely submission of tenders/quotes/contracts; gross revenue & margins; high win/loss percentage for tenders along with individual KPI’s

Preparation and maintenance of pipeline management and reporting.

Increase Ferretti International’s online presence, marketing & associated activities over social media including LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.
To succeed in this position, the successful candidate will have:

A safety mindset and understand what it takes to drive a safety culture

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior estimating position within heavy engineering services, preferably fabrication, piping and an understanding of weld rates

A record of developing and influencing positive relationships with current and prospective clients & stakeholders

Project and Sales experience preferably within Metal Fabrication, or similar industries like Engineering Procurement Construction Management

Strong financial & business acumen to present reports, review pricing and estimating models, interpret data, identify trends and make recommendations

Advanced skills with MS Office, estimating tools and other industry – related software
