Tradesperson Fitter - Steelmaking - Whyalla

About the role

Reporting to the Mechanical Lead, you will be a part of a team consisting of 5-8 members of mixed disciplines. You will be a part of a team whose responsibility is to ensure the reliability of our plant and equipment through preventative and breakdown maintenance activities.
 

Some of your other responsibilities include:

  • Identifying faults and performing breakdown repairs to minimise downtime

  • Conduct scheduled and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer/s recommendations and manuals with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising production

  • Provides trade support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel

  • Improving the reliability of the assets by proactively supporting continuous improvement initiatives and activities

  • Keeping accurate records of scheduled and breakdown maintenance using SAP

 

Available Rosters

  • 4/5 12hr day & night

  • 4/5 12hr days

  • 38hrs pw (Mon – Fri)

About your experience

To be a successful applicant, you will have:

  • A Certificate/Diploma in Engineering or Trade Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining Trade – MEM30219) or equivalent training package/discipline.

  • Experience in a similar industry such as Construction, Mining, Manufacturing or other production industry

  • A high level of understanding and experience with pneumatics and hydraulics

  • Any Forklift/Dogging/Rigging tickets would be highly regarded

  • SAP or similar experience would be beneficial.
