Mechanical Fitter

About the role

We are currently looking for multiple experienced and enthusiastic fitters to join our coke making team in our Whyalla steelworks.
 

Fantastic fulltime opportunity in day shift.
 

Key responsibilities for this role include:
 

  • Working closely within your workgroup in a variety of team-based and autonomous roles, maintaining various basic and complex machinery
  • Keeping accurate records of scheduled and breakdown maintenance
  • Willingness to participate with competency-based training requirements.

About your experience

To be successfully considered for any of the available opportunities, we are looking to speak with people who can demonstrate:
 

  • Certificate III Mechanical Engineering essential
  • Experience with Compressors and Rotating equipment beneficial
  • Any Forklift/Dogging/Rigging tickets would be highly regarded
  • Strong focus on safety and initiative with a can-do attitude
  • Willingness to work as an active team player as well as independently with a proactive approach
  • Excellent fault finding and troubleshooting skills along with a proactive approach
  • SAP experience would be beneficial.

Liberty Primary Steel, a member of GFG Alliance, operates integrated steelworks which include ironmaking, steel making and rolling-mill facilities located in coastal Whyalla, approximately 400km from Adelaide.
