Mechanical Fitter

About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic fitter to join our Steelmaking team. We have a day shift role available, but the suited candidate must be willing to fill in for 12-hour shift work on an as required basis to cover planned leave or unexpected sick leave. 
 

Key responsibilities for this role include:
 

  • Working closely within your workgroup in a variety of team-based and autonomous roles, maintaining various basic and complex machinery
  • Keeping accurate records of scheduled and breakdown maintenance
  • Willingness to participate with competency-based training requirements.
     

Cost of relocation will be covered by the business for successful candidates. 

About your experience

To be successfully considered for any of the available opportunities, we are looking to speak with people who can demonstrate:
 

  • Fitter Trade Qualified Essential
  • A high level of understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Any Forklift/Dogging/Rigging tickets would be highly regarded
  • Strong focus on safety and initiative with a can-do attitude
  • Willingness to work as an active team player as well as independently with a proactive approach
  • Excellent fault finding and troubleshooting skills along with a proactive approach
  • SAP experience would be beneficial
