Project Coordinator

About the role

The Project Coordinator reports to the Superintendent Maintenance Pellet Plant and is responsible for tasks related to the planning, preparation, execution and review of mechanical activities and projects. During the execution phase, you will assume the role of Task Supervisor and/or Contractor Controller for the package of work and will also support the execution of Cold and Hot Shutdowns as determined by the Superintendent.


This role will collaborate with other maintenance team members to identify and prioritise project work to ensure plant integrity is retained or improved and productive capacity of the plant is maintained


Additional responsibilities include:

 

  • Develop detailed scopes of work for the purposes of tendering; participate in the tender process, including evaluations and provide recommendations for award
  • Engage with contractors responsible for executing assigned scopes of work and develop detailed task lists and resource requirements
  • Ensure all assigned tasks, task logic and resource requirements are included in the master shutdown schedules where applicable
  • Coordinate the execution of assigned scopes of work to achieve quality outcomes
  • Accountable for coordinating mechanical project activities to deliver the yearly budget plan safely for the Pellet Plant
  • Contribute to developing and managing the department budget


We are looking to speak to people who can demonstrate the following:

 

  • Civil/Mechanical Engineering diploma/degree OR Trade certificate or equivalent
  • Several years experience in maintenance of minerals processing plant, execution of projects and/or major maintenance
  • Knowledge and practical application of Project Management methods and systems
  • Use of computer Maintenance Management System (preferably SAP)
  • Drivers licence - essential
  • Strong in use of MS Project
