Project Controller - Whyalla

About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent the primary purpose of this role is to work with Contractors and the Maintenance Team to execute planned maintenance projects throughout the coke making department.

A pivotal part of this role will be project controlling internal and external resources to deliver project outcomes and provide support to the project controlling team when necessary.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scope, supervise and coordinate project activities to ensure the work performed by project contractors are undertaken safely, executed to the prescribed technical standard and in compliance with design/specifications and cost requirements 
  • Work collaboratively with the wider project controlling team to deliver objectives
  • Consult all stakeholders prior to scoping and keep them informed on the project progress
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and work quality 
  • Effective planning of manpower and coordination of manpower, parts, and materials 
     

Roster
This is a Monday – Friday, standard 38hr weekday roster.

About your experience

As a successful candidate you will have gained experience working in an industrial site, be able to effectively engage with large volume work, have a dedicated commitment to ensure projects are safely managed and completed in time and within the approved budget.

It would be ideal if you have an Engineering qualification or relevant Trade background, however, with the right equivalent experience you could still be the employee we’re looking for!

  • Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of maintenance planning, supervision, and project leadership, contractor management, contracts controlling, safety focused
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Proven ability to work autonomously to achieve work objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to be agile and adaptable
  • Sound understanding of maintenance methodologies and improvement processes
  • SAP or Maximo or similar systems experience desired
