Production Operator

About our team

SIMEC Mining, a member of GFG Alliance, has operations in SA and NSW.  Our Iron Ore mining operations in South Australia’s Middleback Ranges, south of Whyalla, consist of three primary mine sites: Iron Baron, Iron Knob and the South Middleback Ranges.  Administration functions and ore processing and shipping facilities are located within the city limits of Whyalla, with corporate functions based in Adelaide and Sydney.

About the role

We currently have two exciting opportunity for an Operator (Day Shift) to join our Pelletising Team.  
 

The position reports to Team Leader - Services working 12 hour shifts on an even-time roster.
Main duties:

  • Day-to-day operations support including provision of plant duties
  • Demonstrate ability to identify faults through the use of fault finding techniques with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems
  • Working in a professional, timely and safe manner following all SIMEC Mining’s standards and procedures.

About your experience

Key criteria:

  • Previous operational experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office an SAP advantageous
  • Skid steer / FL / Water cart tickets desirable
  • Ability to diagnose and apply fault finding techniques
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
