About The Role

OneSteel Manufacturing operates a mining and steel manufacturing business. As Australia’s only manufacturer of special grade billet and steel long products we provide solutions for nation-building infrastructure including rail. With State and Federal Government investment, the Whyalla Mining and Steel Manufacturing assets form part of the sovereign security of Australia’s manufacturing sector.

 

These are 12 hour rotating Day and Night Shift positions
 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Operate and monitor machinery and production lines in the steel manufacturing process
  • Ensure all production processes meet quality and safety standards
  • Troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on machinery when necessary
  • Record production data and report any issues or concerns to supervisors
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work environment
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of production processes
     

To be successful you will have;
 

  • A strong commitment to safety
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred, but not essential
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations within a manufacturing environment
  • Physical stamina and ability to work on your feet

About Us

Liberty Primary Steel operates the historic Whyalla Steelworks, approximately 400km from Adelaide.  The integrated facility which includes ironmaking, steel making, and rolling-mill facilities is Australia’s only manufacturer of special grade billet and steel long products providing solutions for nation-building infrastructure including rail. It is also the future home of green steel with plans to construct an Electric Arc Furnace and Direct Reduction Iron facility fed by natural gas and hydrogen.
