Process Engineer
About The Role
As part the Ironmaking Metallurgy team, this role will primarily centre on providing technical know-how for the Blast Furnace. This will involve coordinating and managing the metallurgical process including the improvement activities across the Blast Furnace operation. You will be responsible for key process equipment and also contribute to the Quality Management System and participate business initiatives.
You will achieve this by:
- Achieving cost effective and capable processes
- Defining measures and reporting systems on key process variables
- Developing and implementing continuous improvement on process management systems
- Advancing operational improvement, plant security and availability
- Educating and training the team on various metallurgical processes.
About your experience
You are an enthusiastic, motivated, and tech-savvy individual who has relevant ironmaking / steelmaking / pyro-metallurgical experience in a similar role within mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry sector. You enjoy working in a dynamic collaborative environment and are comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Chemical or Metallurgy Engineering or similar
- Sound understanding of manufacturing methodologies
- Experience with Process Control, Process Development and Process Management systems
- Sound understanding of Statistical analysis and methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
