Maintenance Manager

About the role

As a member of the Steel Products Lead Team, the role contributes towards maximising the economic value and long-term sustainability of the Steel Products manufacturing asset, assisted through:

  • Providing a strong leadership focus on the core values of safety and the customer
  • Contribution to and ensuring, compliance with safety, environmental, quality control plans, engineering standards and maintenance standards.
  • Maintenance management at an operating plant level which includes:
    • Providing plant and equipment uptime and reliability to meet departmental business plan.
    • Directing and coordinating the Reliability Engineering, Area Maintenance and Maintenance Planning functions within Steel Products.
    • Maintenance scheduling and coordination in conjunction with operations.
  • Provide an asset strategy that is supported by sound maintenance principles as articulated in the OneSteel Asset Manual.
  • Development of and ensuring adherence to, an annual operating R&M and Capital budget for Steel Products.

 

Role purpose 

  • Improving, through asset management the condition and productive capacity of the Steel Products assets to ensure success in future years.
  • Development and execution of a maintenance strategy that will support the overall Steel Products throughput and conversion cost targets.
  • Responsible for the application of external and internal maintenance and engineering standards, as well as the standardisation of maintenance processes within Steel Products.
  • Collaborate with the Manager Engineering for Manufacturing to ensure Steel Products asset management strategy is aligned with the overall manufacturing plan.

 

 Role Accountabilities

  • Management of maintenance facilities and activities in a manner that minimises risk to employees, contractors and the environment
  • Design and deliver in collaboration with the Manager Engineering Manufacturing an asset and maintenance strategy aligned to the Steel Products quality and capacity plan, to ensure asset availability, reliability and measurement capability are synchronised with our customers and suppliers
  • Support supply chain functions with engineering solutions in order to enable adherence to capacity plans
  • Deploy organisation and role design to the Steel Products Maintenance structure, to support the delivery of the Manufacturing strategic direction and priorities

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a maintenance environment in a manufacturing business.
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing methodologies and improvement processes.
  • Producing & managing budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience in Maintenance Management of a manufacturing asset.
