Maintenance Electrician - Coke Ovens

About the role

Join a dynamic well versed  Electrical team in Coke Making. Reporting to the Shift Maintenance Leader, you will carry out the maintenance and troubleshooting of faults, through the execution of preventative maintenance systems to avoid equipment and operations breakdowns.

This is an exciting opportunity where no 2 days are the same. Your actions will help to minimise down time and keep all plant equipment working in a safe and efficient mode.

Full time Day Shift and Shift work opportunities available.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Assessing and rectifying faults on high level electrical, process quality and control issues on site 
  • Performing preventative/predictive and corrective maintenance on hardware such as transformers, switchgear, protection relays, cables and aerials
  • Implementing HV group policy through execution of the asset strategy in different plant
  • Perform a variety of day to day electrical tasks across the whole of the Whyalla Steel works, including simple statutory testing through to Complex fault finding on production critical assets.

About your experience

You are a reliable and safety focused Electrical trades person who will bring an electrical aptitude, initiative, and can-do attitude to the team. You will demonstrate ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment while providing timely and cost-effective solutions. 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • “A Class” electrical licence
  • Previous experience with PLC, VSD or Control Systems
  • Ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders 
  • Background in a similar manufacturing, mining, oil and gas or heavy industry environment preferred
  • Exposure to wide range of electrical power distribution systems an advantage
