Lubrication Technician

About the role

We are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Lubrication Technician to join our team at the Blast Furnace in our Whyalla Steelworks. 

As a Lubrication Technician you will be responsible for lubrication of equipment, contamination control, minimising oil losses, oil sampling strategy, performing inspections and proactive maintenance activities for all lubricated mechanical systems.  

You will be fundamental in ensuring high plant reliability through improving equipment lubrication activities as well as taking ownership of the key lubrication storage areas.

Key responsibilities will be:

  • Execute approved maintenance lubrication strategies and scheduling of the works
  • Identify opportunities for improved asset performance and recommend appropriate changes to support plant performance
  • Provide technical support for all lubrication issues and standardise the plant, equipment, services and systems where practical.

About your experience

To be successful in this role you will have a technical background. Desirable attributes include

  • Mechanical trade qualifications 
  • Knowledge of oil analysis, condition monitoring and vibration analysis
  • A current forklift high risk work licence
  • SAP (or similar) experience 
  • Experience working on plant and equipment within a similar heavy industry.
