HR Officer

About the role

The HR Officer supports the HR Team in providing end-to-end human resources support across the employee lifecycle. The role serves to support the HR Team as a trusted partner to leaders and employees, offering timely, practical and compliant advice. The purpose of the role is to support managing the day-to-day operations of HR, ensuring smooth and effective processes across employee relations, performance management and compliance. 

 

Priority Accountabilities 
•    Provide frontline HR support across all employee matters including performance, policy and conduct
•    Act as a key contact for workforce engagement and resolution of queries
•    Support the HR Team in partnering with leaders to deliver HR processes including performance reviews and onboarding
•    Deliver routine HR administrative support and documentation
•    Contribute to talent activities such as succession planning and onboarding/ offboarding
•    Support site-based HR projects, change initiatives and communications


Qualifications & Experience.
•    Certificate IV in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (desirable)
•    Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or Industrial Relations (desirable)
•    1–3 years' experience in a generalist or HR administrative support role, ideally within an industrial or unionised environment.
•    Familiarity with the National Employment Standards, Fair Work Act, and relevant employment instruments
•    Demonstrated experience maintaining HR records and generating workforce reports

About Us

Whyalla Steel Works  operates the historic Whyalla Steelworks, approximately 400km from Adelaide.  The integrated facility which includes ironmaking, steel making, and rolling-mill facilities is Australia’s only manufacturer of special grade billet and steel long products providing solutions for nation-building infrastructure including rail. It is also the future home of green steel with plans to construct an Electric Arc Furnace and Direct Reduction Iron facility fed by natural gas and hydrogen.
