Fitter - Power & Services

About the role

Reporting to the Leading Hand, you will be working in a team of 7, with members of various trade backgrounds. Within Ironmaking there are currently positions available in the Power and Services maintenance teams. Some of your key responsibilities are:

 

  • Working closely within your workgroup in a variety of team-based and autonomous roles, maintaining various basic and complex machinery
  • Keeping accurate records of scheduled and breakdown maintenance
  • Willingness to participate with competency-based training requirements.
     

With the team's growth projection, the current team roster is based on a 7.6hr day shift with the view to be 12hr (7 am - 7 pm) in the future.

About your experience

To be successfully considered for any of the available opportunities, we are looking to speak with people who can demonstrate:
 

  • Trade Certificate III Mechanical Engineering essential
  • Experience with Compressors and Rotating equipment beneficial
  • Any Forklift/Dogging/Rigging tickets would be highly regarded
  • Strong focus on safety and initiative with a can-do attitude
  • Willingness to work as an active team player as well as independently with a proactive approach
  • Excellent fault finding and troubleshooting skills with an ability to work logically through problems to identify root cause
  • SAP experience or similar system would be beneficial
