In this critical role, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electronic and instrumentation systems across the Steelworks. • Perform routine and precision calibration of gas monitors, multimeters, and other instrumentation to industry and manufacturer standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on system upgrades, commissioning, and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and promote safety behaviour across site operations, actively contributing to safety meetings, near miss reporting, and hazard reduction
  • Ensure availability and accuracy of critical electronic spare parts
  • Support coordination of electronic repairables through liaison with Maintenance Systems Officer and relevant supervisors

About You

  • Trade qualified with a Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (UEE30920) or A Class Electrical Licence with relevant industry experience
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial electronics, with a solid understanding of circuits including switch-mode power supplies, TTL/CMOS logic gates, microprocessors, SCR and IGBT power devices
  • Hands-on experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, signature analysers, function generators, and portable calibrators
  • Familiar with CMMS and ERP platforms such as SAP, Maximo, Dynamics 365, or EPIX
  • Committed to safety-first practices and experienced working in industrial or manufacturing settings
  • Strong communicator with the ability to work across departments and maintain productive relationships with operations, engineering, and technical staff
