Electrical Leader - Power and Services

About the role

Supporting the Power and Services Maintenance Superintendent working 12 hour day shifts on a 5:4 roster pattern, you will be responsible for steering the electrical maintenance team while safely improving the condition and productive capacity of the fixed assets in Power and Services. 


In addition to overall responsibility for the electrical equipment performance onsite, you will also be responsible for:

  • Troubleshooting daily plant and equipment issues through the application of trades skills and fault-finding techniques
  • Supporting mechanical maintenance with isolation and installation work
  • Analysing daily and weekly data and modifying planned maintenance forward log to optimise performance
  • Executing major repairs that can take up to 12 months to complete
  • Steering of the electrical maintenance team
  • Contractor supervision of service providers
  • Proposing, developing, and executing minor business improvement initiatives focused on safety and maintenance performance
  • Drive strategic interventions while keeping your eye on control / electrical system upgrades

About your experience

Stepping into this leader development role, our ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience in fixed plant maintenance as well as a background in electrical maintenance work in heavy industry. To support the maintenance of the plant you will have a demonstrated capability to drive improvement processes, manage significant budgets and utilise your team effectively to achieve outcomes.

You will also have:

  • An electrical trade / technician background with supervisory experience
  • A sound understanding of maintenance methodologies and improvement processes
  • Demonstrated capability to develop and deliver budgets 
  • Experience coordinating the planning and scheduling of maintenance work
  • A charismatic leadership style to positively influence and build collaboration
  • An investigative mindset to gather further information and drive high performance
