Customer Service Officer-Newcastle
About the role
Reporting to the Sales and Service Manager, you will be working closely with Sales Managers, Mill Operations, Finance and Transport Planning to ensure our customers are receiving an exceptional level of customer service. We are looking for someone proactive, eager to learn, and passionate about providing great service and continuous improvement. Working in a collaborative and responsive office environment your duties will include but not limited to:
- Accurately enter and monitor customer orders from placement through to fulfillment
- Review all order details to ensure timely processing and correct documentation
- Promptly respond to all customer phone and email enquiries
- Develop and maintain strong, positive working relationships with our customers and internal teams
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all product ranges, including stock and customer-owned product availability.

Experience, Qualifications and Competency Requirements
- A willingness to learn to gain an understanding of our customers business and offer value-based solutions or a proven track record in a customer service, administration or internal sales role
- Strong phone presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to problem solve, take initiative, attention to detail and time management
- Previous Sales and Service experience or an ability
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs and Excel
- Desirable experience- using SAP systems and an understanding of LPS Sales, Freight, Logistics and Manufacturing processes.

About Us
Liberty Primary Steel operates the historic Whyalla Steelworks, approximately 400km from Adelaide. The integrated facility which includes ironmaking, steel making, and rolling-mill facilities is Australia’s only manufacturer of special grade billet and steel long products providing solutions for nation-building infrastructure including rail. It is also the future home of green steel with plans to construct an Electric Arc Furnace and Direct Reduction Iron facility fed by natural gas and hydrogen.
