Condition Monitoring Leader

About the role

Reporting to the Reliability Manager and responsible for achieving compliance to the condition monitoring schedule, this role will be required to set and maintain standards for condition monitoring of plant equipment, including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, balancing, NDT, and any other test required for predictive maintenance. 


Key responsibilities:

  • Planning, scheduling and execution of condition monitoring schedule in SAP to achieve target PM compliance
  • Communicating the benefits of condition monitoring to the ongoing maintenance and operation of the plant. Help to prevent failures through the assistance with precision assembly and proactively responding to plant condition information
  • Providing short- and long-term technical support and solutions to maintenance personnel within all Plant areas regarding Condition Management
  • Providing Hydraulic and Lubrication expertise, advice, and support to ensure plant reliability across Liberty Primary Steel Whyalla
  • Assisting in troubleshooting and complex analysis as required in all Plant areas
  • Developing scopes of work, estimates and schedules
  • Assessing bids from contractors and negotiating contract set up
  • Reviewing progress, cost and technical issues
  • Liaising with plant area operating staff on best method on the integration of project/construction work into operating plant or plant shutdown schedule as required
  • Assisting with the development of plant Condition Management System standards for Liberty Primary Steel Whyalla
  • Providing Reporting to Maintenance Managers and Maintenance Leaders, plant owner and capital management

About your experience

Our ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience or be a senior condition monitoring technician ready to take the next step in their career. Alongside your certifications in the likes of RCA and condition monitoring techniques, you will possess strong leadership qualities to be able to guide your team to success through partnering with operations to drive reliability outcomes.


You also have:

  • Relevant qualification in condition monitoring/ reliability or tertiary qualification in Engineering desirable
  • Trained in condition monitoring techniques (essential), VCAT (desirable)
  • Sound understanding of reliability improvement tools (RCM)
  • Demonstrated experience in Engineering Maintenance Management of a manufacturing asset
  • Competent in safe supervision of contracted service providers
