About the role

We would like to invite recent or soon-to-be graduates to take part in our 2027 Graduate Program. We have two Graduate Trader roles available at Recycling - Wacol.
Real Work with Real Outcomes – Starting in January 2027, our program offers a two-year fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent placement. This immersive, hands-on program provides practical learning through hands-on experience and meaningful work.

Participants will complete two 12-month rotational placements, gaining a comprehensive technical and commercial skills training blend.

The program includes continuous coaching, mentorship, and formal training, allowing participants to rotate through diverse business units.

This structure ensures a thorough understanding of operations and strategic initiatives, combining on-the-job learning with formal education.
Key Areas of Exposure
-
Play a direct role in driving sustainability by connecting local recycling supply with local and global demand for recycled metals – including our own patented, world-class Sense 600 recycled steel.

Source and secure recyclable metal from local suppliers, building strong relationships with industry participants.

Learn how recycled metals are priced, negotiated, and traded in real‑time local and global markets.

Gain exposure to international trading, including exports and logistics.

Work alongside experienced traders and sales leaders, developing commercial, negotiation, and market analysis skills.
We are seeking adaptable, motivated individuals who demonstrate:

A strong foundation in Trading, Sales, Marketing or Finance

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

A commitment to driving continuous improvement and making meaningful contributions to the business.

Eligibility Criteria:

A genuine passion for Trading and Sales within the operational context of steel manufacturing and distribution.

Australian/NZ citizenship or a visa granting unlimited working rights.
-
Completion of an Australian tertiary degree within the past three years (or set to conclude in 2026).

Less than two years of full-time, discipline-specific work experience.
Note: Successful placement into this program will be subject to pre-employment checks, including but not limited to criminal, qualification, medical, and reference checks.
