Customer Service Representative
About The Role
Join our friendly Tonkin Steel team in Townsville.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll help customers, process orders, and keep things running smoothly between the office and warehouse.
We’re looking for someone who is switched on, communicates well, and takes initiative. This isn’t a role for someone who just waits to be told what to do.
The hours are 8:00AM – 4:30PM, with occasional flexibility when you need time for family or personal commitments.
What you’ll be doing
- Answering calls, emails, and helping walk-in customers
- Doing quotes, orders, and cash sales
- Working with the team to get orders out on time
- Basic admin and keeping things organised
What we’re looking for
- Good communication and a positive attitude
- Someone reliable who takes initiative
- Comfortable using a computer (training provided)
- Customer service or sales experience is a bonus
- Experience with systems like SAP is a plus.
- Worked with steel, roofing or fittings before? Even better
We’re open to school leavers or anyone keen to learn — attitude matters more than experience.
