Warehouse Supervisor
About The Role
ARC Metalcentre is looking for a self-driven and dynamic individual to join our Tamworth branch as an Warehouse Supervisor. This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of our branch operations. This is a dual operational and people-leadership position where you’ll spend time on the floor alongside the team while also providing direction, structure and support to keep the warehouse running safely and efficiently.
You’ll be responsible for delivering daily operational plans, maintaining continuity of supply, and driving a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement. You’ll lead by example, coach and develop team members, and ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising, mentoring and developing a small warehouse team (approximately 6 team members & 2 contract drivers)
- Leading day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations, including hands-on operational duties
- Ensuring daily plans, targets and customer requirements are achieved
- Promoting and maintaining a strong safety-first culture in line with company standards and procedures
- Ensure Business Safety Management System are current Using Cority Safety System
- Facilitating toolbox talks, training, workforce planning and capability development
- Identifying process improvements, cost efficiencies and operational enhancements
- Resolving operational issues as they arise and escalate when required
- Supporting operational administration and system requirements
- Delivering a customer-centric approach to ensure an exceptional experience
You’re a proactive and capable leader who thrives in a fast-paced warehousing or manufacturing environment. You enjoy being hands-on, leading from the front, and building engaged, capable teams while keeping safety and efficiency top of mind.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience leading or supervising teams in a warehousing, logistics or production environment
- Strong planning, organisational and communication skills
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
- A positive, team-focused attitude with the ability to engage and motivate others
- Experience with lean or operational excellence tools (such as 5S) highly regarded
- Manufacturing or distribution industry experience desirable
- SAP experience and solid computer skills (Microsoft Office) desirable
- A current Forklift Licence (required); crane ticket desirable where applicable
