Mine Surveyor

About the role

Reporting to the Statutory Mine Surveyor, you will assist in maintaining accurate survey control across the site, supporting operational departments, as well as other Technical Services and Engineering functions.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate survey records, including collection and storage of spatial data, ensuring a high level of data integrity
  • Develop and update mining plans using the AutoCAD Civil 3D product
  • Setout major mine infrastructure and underground roadways
  • Assist in the maintenance of the mine control network
  • Collect and process survey data to assist in preparation of plans reports and other forms of spatial information
  • Accurately measure, record and distribute production data
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives

 

About your experience

You are a results focused individual who is skilled at working in high pressure environments. With a strong focus on safety and quality, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both peers and supervisors.

You will also possess the following: 

  • Proven experience in a similar role – ideally working underground in coal mining
  • You will possess a tertiary qualification in Surveying
  • Mine surveyor registration will be highly regarded, or alternatively a willingness to pursue survey registration desirable.
  • You will be highly competent in AutoCad, Microsoft Excel and relevant surveying software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using AutoCad, Microsoft Excel and relevant surveying software
  • You will ideally have a strong understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of coal mining.
