Longwall Mechanical Coordinator

About the role

As the Mechanical Coordinator you will play a significant role in the safe and efficient daily operations at SIMEC Tahmoor.

You will be responsible for:

  • Prepare, supervise and communicate the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of mechanical plant and installations at the Longwall
  • Effectively utilise the Maintenance Management System to develop and close out work orders, and to monitor planned completion schedules
  • Coordinate parts, labour, and equipment as required to undertake the maintenance plans and major breakdowns
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the entire maintenance cycle to identify improvements to the planning process - action plans, major delays, and works conducted
  • Analyse all the information to develop the short, medium and long term plans from: routine preventative maintenance schedules, condition monitoring reports, inspections, hazard identification, risk management, failure analysis and shift reports
  • Manage projects and contractors within the section, monitoring compliance with contractual obligations to check projects are delivered within the agreed scope, budget and quality standards.

About your experience

You are a result focused, people-oriented Longwall Mechanical Coordinator with an excellent work ethic, one who holds themselves to the highest levels of Accountability, Reliability, Integrity and adaptability. You have experience within mining, processing, or manufacturing operations. With a strong focus on safety and quality, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both peers and supervisors.

 

You will also have:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), Adv. or Diploma of Engineering (Mechanical)
  • Proven project management skills
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and SAP
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulic drawings. 
  • Able to perform fault-finding activities on complex, heavy industrial equipment
