Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer

About the role

As the Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer you will be reporting to Network Services Lead where you will provide assistance with the planning, design and implementation strategy for a number of different projects for the LPMA team.


Responsibilities include:

  • Manage installations, configure tests, maintain, troubleshoot and tune network infrastructure
  • Assist with plans for periodic penetrations testing of all applications as well as network elements to ensure adherence to regulations
  • Point of contact for escalations and resolution for LPMA sites
  • Provide support with system capacity planning in order to ensure appropriate growth and evolution of systems
  • Provide support in areas of M365 technologies, server and virtual environments, active directory, endpoint computing and LPMA Networks and Systems
  • Ensure the appropriate and essential planned maintenance of infrastructure is performed to reduce the number of unplanned outages
  • Create and maintain detailed network documents and this includes network diagrams, configurations and standard operating procedures
  • Provide support, guidance and training with capabilities and usage of voice/data network equipment or any new technology being installed and evaluated
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clients, the LPMA team and engineering groups

About your experience

Skills:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information technology or a related field (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong technical experience around infrastructure, systems, network and cloud technology
  • Experience within a service delivery role in Network Engineering and a solid understanding of Network services
  • Cisco Certification CCNP, practical knowledge and experience using Cisco systems, routing and switching using Cisco hardware and software.
  • Experience with Palo Alto, Azure firewalls, MS Azura Cloud and M365 Technologies
  • Experience with VoIP, Network Protocols, IP Telephony and IP Networking
  • Physical and Virtual hardware and Operating Environments experience
  • Strong communications skills both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Past experience working on Private Cloud would be considered favourably but is not essential

Our Tahmoor Colliery in New South Wales, is an underground longwall coal mine with an associated coal handling and preparation plant, producing high quality coking coal for global markets.
