Senior Internal Auditor
About the role
Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, the Senior Internal auditor will be responsible for identifying process gaps to prevent non-compliance, value loss or fraud and recommend and build appropriate processes and tools to ensure compliance using a cost-effective approach. This is a new role within Australia as the function has been relocated from overseas.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist the Internal Audit Manager to review company business risks and develop the internal audit plan

Lead preparation of Internal Audit reports

Undertake audit fieldwork to provide assurance to management and board as to the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control and risk-management environment

Engage with business and other stakeholders on management of internal audit findings to resolution

Develop control self assessment materials and liaise with the business to complete self assessments and identify gaps

Challenge and improve processes and compliance measures

Present results, recommendations and conclusions of audit reviews
Skills and qualifications required:
-
7-15 years internal audit experience

Proven track record of successfully completing internal audits

Strong understanding of processes in an industrial company (including non-financial processes)

Ability to analyse and process information to produce accurate and informative audit reports

Negotiation and influencing skills – ability to use a range of negotiating and influencing styles to achieve desired outcomes.

Strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to manage multiple audits effectively
