The Manager Economics & Market Analytics leads enterprise-wide market intelligence, economic analysis and forecasting across steel, construction and related industrial markets. The role converts complex market, economic, trade, competitive and operational data into clear, actionable insights that support executive strategy, pricing, procurement, investment planning, capacity planning and risk management.

 

The role provides trusted, forward-looking insights to senior leaders by combining external market intelligence, internal commercial and operational data, stakeholder input, and analytical modelling. It owns and governs key market assumptions used for planning and performance, improves the quality and accessibility of market insights through reporting and Power BI dashboards, and enhances market understanding across the organisation through clear executive communication and knowledge sharing.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Analyze market trends, steel demand, commodity prices, construction activity, and economic data to provide valuable business insights.
  • Prepare market forecasts, scenario analysis, and outlook reports to support strategic planning and business decisions.
  • Manage and maintain key market assumptions used in budgeting, forecasting, pricing, procurement, and performance reviews.
  • Provide market intelligence, executive briefings, and recommendations on risks, opportunities, pricing movements, and industry developments.
  • Support business projects by conducting market research, investment analysis, market sizing, and commercial opportunity assessments.
  • Develop and improve analytical models, dashboards, forecasting tools, and automated reports to enhance decision-making and reporting efficiency.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external industry partners, ensuring market information is accurate, reliable, and translated into practical business actions and be able to deliver economic briefings to internal and external partners.

What you will bring:

  • Postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience) in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in market analysis, forecasting, pricing analysis, scenario planning, and providing commercial insights to support business decisions.
  • Advanced analytical skills with expertise in Power BI, Excel modelling, external market data, and business reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, industry bodies, regulators, and external data providers through clear and effective communication.
  • Strong commercial judgement, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and a commitment to continuous improvement, data governance, and team capability development.
