Legal Counsel

The role reports to the Head of Customer Contracts and Disputes to support the provision of legal services, mainly the implementation of the contract policy, reviewing and negotiating customer facing contracts in accordance with the contract policy, and providing advice to the business units with respect to customer facing disputes which arise, aligned with InfraBuild strategies and initiatives.
What you will be doing:
- Provide legal support in areas such as supply contracts, sales contracts, general contracting, capital projects, disputes, regulatory and environmental issues, corporate issues, legal compliance, policy development, training, and monitoring
- Assist in identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risks
- Report material issues related to legal risks, compliance, and corporate governance to the General Counsel and Head of Legal
- Engage with other functional teams, including Treasury, Finance, Tax, Environment, Safety, and Insurance
- Conduct legal research on emerging compliance issues or legislative changes
- Maintain material contracts register, disputes/key litigation reports and other key documents

What you will bring:
- Bachelor of Laws
- Admitted to practice in an Australian state and a current practising certificate
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate competing priorities in a dynamic environment
- Enthusiasm, exceptional collaboration skills, and a keen interest in driving and achieving commercial objectives
- Strong ability to work as part of a team
