Junior Legal Counsel
About the role
We have a unique opportunity for a Junior Legal Counsel to join our legal team based in Newcastle (preferred) or Sydney. You will support the Head of Legal InfraBuild Australia and work closely with the Australian legal team and businesses, gaining valuable in-house experience in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:

Provide legal support in areas such as supply contracts, sales contracts, general contracting, capital projects, disputes, regulatory and environmental issues, corporate issues, legal compliance, policy development, training, and monitoring

Assist in identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risks

Report material issues related to legal risks, compliance, and corporate governance to the General Counsel and Head of Legal

Participate in team meetings and initiatives, providing resourcing support as needed

Engage with other functional teams, including Treasury, Finance, Tax, Environment, Safety, and Insurance

Conduct legal research on emerging compliance issues or legislative changes

Maintain material contracts register, disputes/key litigation reports and other key documents.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

2 to 3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial or corporate law.

Admission to practice law in Australia

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate competing priorities in a dynamic environment

Enthusiasm, exceptional collaboration skills, and a keen interest in driving and achieving commercial objectives

Strong ability to work as part of a team.
