Internal Communication and Experience Manager

About the role

The Internal Communication and Experience Manager shapes the internal voice of the organisation and helps people shift from knowing to doing. This role turns corporate strategy into stories, stories into experiences and experiences into alignment. It blends strategic clarity, creative imagination and hands on delivery to influence behaviour and performance at scale.

The role works closely with senior leaders to articulate our strategic direction in ways that feel human, relevant and resonant. It brings editorial judgement that lifts the quality of leadership communication and translate complexity into crisp narratives that help people understand what we are trying to achieve, why it matters and what actions will deliver results. You think in systems as well as moments, designing internal communication rhythms, standards and channels that reinforce strategic priorities and make desired behaviours easier to adopt.

This is also a maker’s role. You will write, edit, create and deliver communication across formats from leadership messages to structured narratives, digital content to experiential concepts. The position will also mentor and guide a newly created Communication and Experience Coordinator and work closely with digital, content and design colleagues. Creative instincts matter because clarity and freshness help people pay attention, understand and act.

The Internal Communication and Experience Manager will lead the management and evolution of our enterprise communication ecosystem, including our hybrid intranet, enterprise social network and digital screens. Governance, design, accessibility and insight led optimisation ensure channels don’t just share information but support execution of the corporate strategy through understanding, motivation and consistent behaviour.

Communication experiences are an important part of the remit including designing internal events, leadership forums and experiences across InfraBuild that reinforce strategic priorities and culture in ways that feel distinctly ours. You also may lead or support selected customer and industry events to ensure our external presence reflects our brand and narrative.

A modern mindset is essential. You are curious about AI, automation, analytics, immersive communication and evolving content formats. You understand how to experiment responsibly and use insight to elevate clarity, craft and impact. You see communication as both a discipline and a creative pursuit with the power to influence behaviour, culture and business outcomes.
