Internal Audit Manager
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Finance Services and Enterprise Risk, the Internal Audit Manager will be responsible for identifying process gaps to prevent non-compliance, value loss or fraud and recommend and build appropriate processes and tools to ensure compliance using a cost-effective approach. This is a new role within Australia as the function has been relocated from overseas.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead all activities related to Internal Audit and Internal Controls across InfraBuild

Develop and execute the overall strategy for Internal Audit

Represent InfraBuild to any external organisations that require assurance for Internal Controls

Develop relationships throughout the organisation, at all levels, and create appropriate environment in order for people to feel comfortable to disclose areas of lack of compliance on Internal Controls

Challenge and improve first-line internal control activities and compliance measures

Develop training material and train the organisation in terms of complying with risk control matrix for each process

Flowchart the movement of money and documents to understand how internal controls are taking place

Provide independent advice and perspective to the Audit & Risk Committee (Board) chair
Skills and qualifications required:

15-20 years internal audit experience including managing a team of auditors

Proven track record of successfully managing complex audits in large industrial companies

Strong understanding of processes in an industrial company (including non-financial processes)

Experience in conducting internal audits and coming up with practical insights

Experience in presenting to senior management and Audit Committee of the Board

Ability to analyse and process information to produce accurate and informative audit reports

Proven track record of successfully managing complex audits

Strong problem-solving skills to address complex audits and develop effective prevention strategies
