Group Financial Accountant

About the role

Reporting to the Consolidation and Financial Reporting Manager, the Group Financial Accountant plays a critical role in performing monthly financial close processes for the consolidation group and preparing financial statements. The role also drives process improvements, supports audits, and ad hoc projects.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Month-end close activities, primarily within IBM’s Planning Analytics (TM1) platform
  • Ownership of lease accounting and related reporting system
  • Statutory reporting preparation using Workiva system
  • Audit and related governance process support
  • Support corporate finance and related projects such as M&A activities

 

Skills and experience:

  • CA or CPA qualified, or working towards the completion of CA or CPA, with a degree in accounting or similar
  • Minimum 2 years related experience in auditing, or in financial accounting and statutory reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and technical accounting standards including IFRS 16 lease
  • Ability to identify financial issues and propose solutions
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with financial software such as TM1 and SAP
