About The Role

We at InfraBuild would like to invite recent or soon-to-be graduates to take part in our 2026 Graduate Program as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer based in Rooty Hill, Sydney.  

 

Real Work with Real Outcomes – Starting in January 2026, our program offers a two-year fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent placement. This immersive, hands-on program provides practical learning through fundamental tasks and meaningful work. Participants will complete two 12-month rotational placements, gaining a comprehensive technical and commercial skills training blend.

 

The program includes continuous coaching, mentorship, and formal training, allowing participants to rotate through diverse business units. This structure ensures a thorough understanding of operations and strategic initiatives, combining on-the-job learning with formal education.


As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to

  • Dive deep into the world of hydraulics and hydraulic systems.
  • Gain hands-on experience in project management, learning to lead and coordinate projects effectively.
  • Explore maintenance and life cycle projects, with a focus on reliability enhancement, particularly in relation to bearings.
  • Engage with diverse and intriguing tasks spanning various mechanical engineering areas.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A genuine passion for Mechanics within the operational context of steel manufacturing and distribution.
  • Australian/NZ citizenship or a visa granting unlimited working rights.
  • Completion of an Australian tertiary degree within the past three years (or set to conclude in 2025).
  • Less than two years of full-time, discipline-specific work experience.
