Corporate Finance Manager

About the role

As the Corporate Finance Manager reporting to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will support Group Management and Executive’s longer-term decision-making and support capital market activities, including fund-raising and M&A.

 

*This is a hands-on role and will see the successful incumbent working 3 days in the Sydney office and 2 days WFH to build and maintain relationships with their stakeholders.

 

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

 

  • Own Medium to long-term Group financial planning approaches and models

  • Provide timely, accurate and reliable financial forecasts & actionable analysis to the leaders

  • Prepare and own financial models to support capital market and M&A activities

  • Proactively identify performance improvement opportunities and risks

  • Lead strategic projects to deliver value-enhancing outcomes

  • Support the continual development of the KPI and metric repositories for use in financial models or assessments and support the development of the Group’s ESG planning & reporting

  • Serve as the key point of contact to the Capital Investment Committee offering analysis and advice to assist their decision making

 

 

You are a highly motivated & resourceful team player with strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills.  Your ability to present & report complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders clearly and succinctly is proof of your excellent communications skills.

 

Ideally you will also have:

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, though these are not essential

  • Professional certifications such as CA or CFA qualified are desirable

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, financial analysis or related roles.

  • Strong financial and business acumen including a strong understanding of corporate finance principles, approaches to forecasting, financial markets, treasury, M&A and accounting concepts

  • Hands-on experience of developing complex financial forecast models is essential

  • High Proficiency in Excel. Exposure to both group planning & reporting systems

  • Knowledge of the steel industry and its value drivers is highly preferred

  • Experience using TM1 (Planning Analytics) and SAP is preferred.
