Communications and Experience Coordinator

About the role

The Communication and Experience Coordinator plays a key role in bringing our internal communication and employee experience to life. This is a hands-on, creative role for someone who enjoys making content, shaping stories, working directly with people and helping a large, distributed workforce stay informed and connected.

You will create content across all formats, including written, visual, digital, video, and social-style short form and you will work directly with frontline employees to help them engage with our digital platforms. You’ll publish content, gather stories, support events, travel to sites when needed and help build confidence and capability across the organisation.

You will work closely with the Employee Communication & Experience Manager, who will provide guidance and coaching. You will also collaborate with colleagues across digital, content, design, HR, Safety and operational teams.

This role is ideal for someone with around five years’ experience who wants to grow as a storyteller, creator and internal communication professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce clear, engaging content including articles, features, leader messages, interviews, scripts, presentation materials, digital posts and short-form storytelling.
  • Capture frontline stories through interviews, photos, short videos or on-site content gathering.
  • Develop visual content in collaboration with design colleagues and support basic editing where required
  • Publish and maintain content across our hybrid intranet, enterprise social network and other digital channels.
  • Support employees in accessing, understanding and using digital communication tools.

  • Spend time on-site with frontline teams to gather stories, understand their communication needs and capture content that reflects their work.
  • Coordinate logistics for internal events, leadership forums and engagement activities.
  • Bring ideas for new formats, approaches and stories that resonate with office-based and frontline employees

 

Capabilities & Requirements

  • Around five years’ experience in communication, journalism, marketing, content or digital roles.
  • Strong writing, storytelling and content creation skills across multiple formats.
  • Confidence working with frontline teams and comfort being on-site to gather stories.
  • Ability to produce basic video or visual content (with support available).
  • Experience engaging employees across digital platforms, intranets or social enterprise networks.
  • Willingness to travel to sites for events, story capture and platform engagement.
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Curious about new tools, including AI, and willing to learn and experiment.
  • Collaborative, approachable and confident working across a wide range of stakeholders.
