Category Portfolio Manager

About the role

Reporting to InfraBuild Head of Procurement the Category Portfolio Manager is an integral part of the Infrabuild Procurement leadership team.  The role leads all commercial aspects of all the relevant Portfolio spend.  Specifically, the purpose of the role is to provide leadership to source, negotiate and manage supplier contracts, identify value (both price and non-price), efficiencies, continuous improvements in cost and service, new equipment and performance reporting. 

 

*This role can be based out of Sydney (various locations), Newcastle, Melbourne (various locations) or Adelaide and will involve travel, both intrastate and interstate.
 

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships

  • Develop, coach and mentor the Portfolio Category Team

  • Ensure that portfolio spend contract coverage is maintained and contracts are frequently tested commercially

  • Develop and implement multilayer action plans to deliver best overall outcomes

  • Develop and challenge the current supply network design, model choice, utilisation, equipment and continuous improvement programs

  • Actively manage risks associated with external spend, including commercial, contract, supplier dependency, financial, safety, service and reputation

 


Skills and experience:
 

  • 20+ years strong commercial experience, managing complex high spend relationships

  • Proven experience in delivering effective commercial outcomes and contract management

  • Strong knowledge of category management

  • Proven people leadership skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to interact at all levels including EGM/Board

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, organisation and prioritisation skills

  • A continuous improvement mindset
