Operations Lead - Afternoon Shift

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor we have a newly created opportunity for an ambitious and capable Operations Lead to join our Sunshine manufacturing team on afternoon shift.  This hands‑on roles forms part of our production leadership group, working closely with the Operations Supervisor and broader site operations to deliver safe, efficient, and high quality production outcomes.

 

You will play a key role in coordinating day to day production activities in order to meet operational targets. You will contribute to managing people, equipment, and process performance while gaining exposure to the full scope of site leadership responsibilities.

 

This position has been established to support ongoing business growth and to develop future leaders who aspire to progress into supervisory or management roles.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Support daily production planning, workflow, and problem solving across the shift
  • Uphold safety and quality standards, actively promoting a safety first culture
  • Assist with resource allocation, team coordination, and performance tracking
  • Contribute to Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement activities
  • Partner with maintenance, logistics, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Take ownership of projects that drive efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement

What you will bring:

  • Strong experience in manufacturing, production or industrial operations - automotive, food or steel background highly regarded
  • A proactive solutions oriented mindset with a passion for people leadership sand process excellence
  • Understanding of Lean principles or exposure to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the business
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and production data systems
  • A genuine desire to learn, grow and develop into a senior leadership role
