About the role

We’re looking for a Steelmaker to join our Meltshop team at InfraBuild Manufacturing in Rooty Hill.

Reporting to the Scrap Bay and Raw Materials Supervisor and based at our Rooty Hill site, you’ll support day-to-day Meltshop operations to help deliver high-quality steel billets safely and efficiently. You’ll be involved in a mix of production, equipment operation, and maintenance support, while working closely with your team to meet targets.

What you will be doing:

  • Operating and maintaining Meltshop equipment, including the fume treatment plant
  • Supporting tundish and mould repairs, and ladle gate servicing
  • Handling and moving bulk raw materials
  • Operating forklifts and other machinery
  • Recording production and equipment data accurately
  • Assisting with maintenance and equipment reliability
  • Contributing to daily planning and meeting production schedules
  • Identifying issues and supporting continuous improvement
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment, contributing to a strong safety culture

This is a permanent, full-time role working 12-hour Dayshifts only a 7 day fortnight rotating roster including weekends.

You’re a practical, reliable team player who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in doing the job well. You can work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

What you will bring:

  • A strong commitment to safety and understanding of workplace safety practices
  • Experience in manufacturing or heavy industry (ideally 2+ years)
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with machinery or in process-driven environments
  • A forklift and/or overhead crane licence (preferred)
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
  • Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
  • A trade background is a bonus, but not essential.
