Shift Fitter

About the role

We are looking for a driven Shift Fitter who can work collaboratively and be responsible for managing breakdowns, planned maintenance and improvement for the manufacturing and distribution site. You will have support and autonomy in a dynamic role with variety of work throughout your day and a wealth of knowledge from an experienced and safety focused team.

 

Duties include; 

  • Execution of preventative and predictive maintenance as well as attending to breakdowns if the need arises.
  • Troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Providing feedback and keeping accurate records of completed work through maintenance management system
  • Liaison with other trades in the workshop and external contractors
  • Executing planned shutdowns and repairs
  • Completion of all tasks to a high quality and with high regard to safety

You will be a Maintenance Fitter who values safety, efficiency, teamwork and has the initiative to be effective in this role. We would love to hear from energetic and reliable candidates who can demonstrate the following: 

 

  • Hold relevant mechanical trade qualification and a background in Heavy Industry
  • Experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance
  • Adaptable with exceptional fault finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to fabricate and weld to test standards
  • Have a proactive approach, whilst holding safety and customer as core values
  • Confident communicator who can work unsupervised and direct contractors on site
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong experience in Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with SAP will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience with shutdown activityWorking at Heights and other safety certifications are desirable
