InfraBuild Steel operates world-class state-of-the-art Steelmaking facilities in Sydney, Newcastle & Melbourne. Operating two electric arc furnaces and four rod and bar rolling mills we use local materials to produce high quality steel products, while building on our proud traditions of technical excellence and team safety. 

About the role

You will be part of a large maintenance team across the Rooty Hill, Melt shop .The roster is Monday to Friday 6 am till 2 pm day shift. There is an extensive training program and support to learn the site and technical skill, and you can prove your competencies to progress quickly. The site has a predictive maintenance program and your primary tasks will be to carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on Overhead double girder, Single girder, Jib cranes and Monorails at the Meltshop and Rolling Mill.

Collaborating with the Cranes Leader & Coordinator you will be monitoring and analysing maintenance schedules for the 42 lifting devices on site and run smaller end of life projects.

We will train you to master your key duties:

  • Execute planned maintenance and inspections of cranes
  • Follow existing OEM certified inspections and repairs supported by the Cranes Coordinator 
  • Provide feedback via the maintenance management system
  • Regular shutdown projects.

  • Mechanical Trade qualification
  • Ideally Forklift ticket and Working at Heights ticket 
  • Fault-finding and troubleshooting skills 
  • Self-starter who is keen to progress in a high-performing team
