HR Business Partner

About the role

Reporting to the Senior HRBP – Rod and Bar Manufacturing, we currently have an opportunity for a HR Business Partner to join our team based at Rooty Hill, with requirement to travel to Newcastle per role requirement.


As the successful candidate, you will deliver on the HR Business plan and interact regularly with the local business leadership team and the broader HR community.


You will be required to:

•    Foster strong relationships and deliver HR support and advise across the business;
•    Provide operational HR support and guidance to leaders and employees;
•    Provide support and answer queries from the business related to HR policies;
•    Support managers and the recruitment team to recruit, retain & onboard talent within the Infrabuild guidelines and DOA.
•    Coordinate and manage the resolution of workplace issues, ensuring appropriate consultation and communication with appropriate parties
•    Build and foster positive working relationships with unions 
•    Participate in Consultative meetings & Enterprise agreement negotiations
•    Provide support and participate in projects and HR business deliverables. 
•    Provide advice on Enterprise Agreement contents.
•    Create and deliver monthly reporting packages for Leadership team.
•    Participate in and provide guidance around performance management issues. 
•    Interact with broader HR team as required.
•    Assist with maintaining employee records.

About your experience

Ideally, a tertiary qualification in HRM or relevant with a minimum 5 years of experience gained as a HR Generalist and Industrial Relations experience. You are resilient, a self-starter and a result orientated individual.


•    Exposure to a blue-collar environment (essential)
•    Experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements (desirable)
•    Manufacturing or similar heavy industry exposure would be advantageous
•    HR experience in a unionised environment, desirable
•    Effective change management skills and a ‘hands on’ practical approach to HR
•    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and work with a variety of stakeholders.
•    Solid communication (written & oral) skills & Computer literate, MS Office skills

InfraBuild’s Steel Manufacturing business unit operates world-class state-of-the-art Steelmaking facilities in Sydney, Newcastle & Melbourne. Operating two electric arc furnaces and four rod and bar rolling mills we use local materials to produce high quality steel products. We supply a range of products to steel distributors nationally, whilst building on our proud traditions of technical excellence and team safety.
