Production Planner

About the role

Reporting to the Branch Manager and based at our Queanbeyan site, you will coordinate and monitor production planning across the branch. You will manage the flow of incoming work, allocate orders across available machine capacity and ensure production requirements are completed safely, accurately and within customer timeframes.

 

Working closely with scheduling teams, engineers, customers and production personnel, you will balance priorities, respond to changing requirements and escalate production risks early to support reliable delivery and strong customer service.

 

The working hours of this role will be Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm, with some flexibility when required.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Plan and coordinate production work across machines in line with customer requirements and production capacity
  • Manage and allocate orders for production, adjusting daily production runs as priorities change
  • Provide clear updates on scheduling commitments at production and planning meetings
  • Monitor incoming work, manufacturing requirements and machine capacity to maintain an achievable production plan
  • Monitor and report production output against plan, including time, accuracy and completion
  • Ensure required drawings and documents are attached to schedules before work is released to production
  • Identify and communicate production setbacks, delays and risks to relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate with schedulers, engineers, customers and production teams to keep work on track
  • Always demonstrate a high commitment to safety, quality and customer service

What you will bring:

  • Some experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing planning or a related environment
  • Strong planning, organisational, reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify and escalate issues early
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a customer-focused approach
  • A Safety First mindset and commitment to quality and compliance
  • Computer literacy, including confidence using MS Office and learning planning systems
