Safety Business Partner

About The Role

As a Safety Business Partner with InfraBuild Manufacturing, you’ll play a critical role in supporting our Rod, Bar and Mesh operations in Newcastle, partnering closely with site leaders to drive our vision of an injury-free workplace.


This is a hands-on, operational role where you’ll influence, coach and empower leaders and teams to embed safety into everyday decision-making. Working as part of a broader safety network, you’ll contribute to business-wide initiatives while ensuring robust systems, processes and behaviours are in place to keep our people safe.


You’ll be more than a safety advisor—you’ll be a trusted partner, helping leaders build capability, navigate change, and continuously improve safety performance across multiple sites.


In this role, you will:

  • Partner with site leadership to deliver safety outcomes aligned to operational goals
  • Lead and support the deployment of WHS systems, processes and improvement initiatives
  • Coach and mentor leaders to build capability in risk management and safety leadership
  • Facilitate incident investigations, identify root causes, and drive preventative actions
  • Support the management of critical risks through effective tools and processes
  • Contribute to safety planning and continuous improvement across manufacturing units
  • Conduct audits and due diligence activities to strengthen system effectiveness and compliance
  • Play an active role in change management, ensuring safe and sustainable business transformation
  • Collaborate across InfraBuild businesses and safety teams to share knowledge and best practice



You’re a proactive and influential safety professional who thrives in an operational environment. You bring a strong understanding of WHS principles, coupled with the ability to engage, coach and challenge leaders to continuously improve safety performance.

You will bring:

  • Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety (Certificate IV or higher)
  • Demonstrated experience in WHS within a manufacturing, heavy industry, or operational environment
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with leaders across multiple sites
  • Strong experience in risk management, incident investigations, and safety systems
  • The ability to coach and develop frontline leaders to effectively manage safety risks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with sound business acumen
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • A visible commitment to safety leadership and driving positive safety culture
