About the role

Based in Newcastle working a 9-day fortnight day shift, or shift work with day and afternoon shift rotation and occasional overtime, the role will challenge you to think outside the square with both high volume work and jobbing work providing plenty of variety.

 

The role will present you with the opportunities to:

 

  • Execute CNC Machining including programming and operating a range of machinery including multi-axis lathes and machining centres
  • Build your skill and knowledge in machining special steels
  • Identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provide feedback via the maintenance management systems
  • Learn about safety management

 

The pay rate: $44.21/hr to $50.48/hr + super + $21.45/week tool allowance + plenty of overtime.

 

The shift work will attract an additional 10% shift allowance.

 

This could be for you if you align with our core values of safety and customer and are focused on driving outcomes to build a career in Machining. You will need to be a self-starter who is a confident communicator and proactive meaning you thrive working autonomously with CNC machines.

 

You will also need to:

 

  • Hold relevant mechanical trade qualification or be currently completing your apprenticeship
  • Demonstrate an ability to read and understand G-Code
  • Demonstrate an ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Have experience with Fanuc, Siemens or Fagor Controls is highly desirable.
  • Utilise or working towards proficiency in CADCAM systems is highly desirable

Reliability, Engineering and Maintenance Services (REMS) The REMS department is responsible for providing reliability and maintenance support to Infrabuild’s internal manufacturing businesses consisting of Steel making, rolling mills, wire mills and tube manufacturing. Comprising of a state of the art machine shop, fabrication and fitting, REMS is capable of manufacturing all parts required by the manufacturing businesses. The REMS team needs to be highly dynamic, responding to the manufacturing mills requirements, solving technical problems and delivering practical solutions.

 

InfraBuild's wire team is Australia's largest manufacturer of wire for construction and manufacturing industries. Our wire products are used in the manufacture of products from nails for the building industry to wire rope for draglines used in open cut mining. With InfraBuild Mills located in Geelong, VIC and Newcastle NSW, our facilities are ideally placed to service our customers’ requirements across Australia & New Zealand.
