Operations Team Leader

About The Role

Join a supportive and high-performing team at InfraBuild Manufacturing as an Operations Team Leader at the Rod Mill in Mayfield. Leading a team of around 20 on a 12-hour rotating shift, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of shift operations, including production, planning, and team performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll coordinate resources to deliver the rolling schedule while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You’ll also play a key role in building team capability and driving a positive, high-performing culture.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage shift operations to meet production targets safely and efficiently
  • Coordinate resources to deliver the rolling schedule on time and to quality standards
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure procedures are followed
  • Coach and develop team members to achieve KPIs
  • Ensure work is well planned, prepared, and executed effectively
  • Respond to changing operational needs to keep the mill running smoothly
  • Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives


You’re a practical and people-focused leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced industrial environment. You bring strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to drive performance through your team.

To be successful, you will have:

  • A trade or engineering background with strong mechanical aptitude
  • Proven experience leading teams in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment
  • Experience developing and training team members
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SAP or similar systems
  • Exposure to rolling mill or similar operations and experience working with a unionised workforce will be highly regarded
