Operations Manager
About the role
ARC (The Australian Reinforcing Company) has a fantastic opportunity at our Newcastle site for an Operations Manager. In this role, you’ll ensure the smooth and efficient running of NSW’s largest manufacturing operation, with a strong focus on safety and achieving production targets.
Reporting directly to the NSW Area Manager, this position is perfect for someone looking to expand and enhance their skills in a dynamic and challenging setting.
Your priorities include:
- Full operational responsibility for production and logistics planning and service execution targets for the site
- Empowering the team to champion a strong safety culture is paramount
- Managing and mentoring the operations team, promoting a high-performing culture through clear accountability setting
- Identify process improvement and cost efficiencies
- Maintenance planning and improvements to improve reliability and increase machine output
- Promote customer centric values to ensure exceptional customer experience
- Proactively manage inventory to reduce waste and maximize EBIT performance
- As part of a broader leadership group, contribute to and influence site and area based strategic P&L decisions
You will be a strategic leader with an innovative mindset, problem-solving and effective communication skills. It is important that you are an autonomous manager, who prioritises a strong safety culture and continuous development of the operational team.
You will have the following skills:
- Ability to drive a high-performance culture in operations
- Exposure to production and maintenance planning
- Steel, Building products or Industrial manufacturing experience is desirable
- Experience managing a heavily unionised team
- Strong understanding of Safety Systems
