Junior Manufacturing Systems Engineer
About The Role
Contribute to the operational success of the InfraBuild Steel Manufacturing departments by supporting existing and delivering enhanced IT capabilities. This role involves the ongoing maintenance and support of a modern Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and associated systems.

Gain knowledge and experience of all aspects of the day-to-day responsibilities of a Manufacturing Systems Engineer by performing the following tasks:
- Assist with various project tasks, including, design, development, configuration, testing, training, data cleansing, cutover tasks and hyper-care support
- Deliver ongoing application enhancements and upgrades to support various IT/business priorities
- Provide day-to-day application support – investigate and resolve issues within the agreed SLA
- Provide 24x7 on-call support as per the agreed roster
- Be involved throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Analyse requirements and translate into solution design and specification
- Ensure quality of delivered systems through structured testing, reviewing, change management and documentation
- Create training material and provide end-user training and coaching
- Collaborate with end-users/business SME’s throughout the systems development lifecycle (SDLC) and ongoing application management
- Collaborate with vendor & integration partners on support and development requirements
- Work within a cross-functional IT team to deliver business requirements on time and within budget
This is a full time role, ideally based in Newcastle or Laverton, with the possibility of being based from our Rooty Hill site for the right candidate.
We are looking for a solution-focused individual looking to build on their experience.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualified in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or similar discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid business communication skills (both written and verbal) required
- Understanding of Manufacturing processes and technologies highly regarded
- Experience with the design, development, and programming of Java-based software, PL/SQL database and client-servers highly regarded
- Experience in creating/modifying reports using technologies such as Crystal Reports and Power BI preferred
- Experience working within structured IS methodologies preferred
- Exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP & Industrial Automation systems in a process industry beneficial
