About The Role

We at InfraBuild would like to invite recent or soon-to-be graduates to take part in our 2026 Graduate Program as a Graduate Electrical Engineer based in Newcastle.

Real Work with Real Outcomes – Starting in January 2026, our program offers a two-year fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent placement. This immersive, hands-on program provides practical learning through fundamental tasks and meaningful work. Participants will complete two 12-month rotational placements, gaining a comprehensive technical and commercial skills training blend.

 

The program includes continuous coaching, mentorship, and formal training, allowing participants to rotate through diverse business units. This structure ensures a thorough understanding of operations and strategic initiatives, combining on-the-job learning with formal education.

 

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to;

 

  • Delve deep into high-voltage engineering and electrical systems.
  • Gain practical experience in project management, leading and coordinating projects effectively.
  • Explore maintenance and reliability projects, with a focus on enhancing reliability, particularly in relation to electrical systems.
  • Engage with diverse tasks spanning various electrical engineering areas.

Eligibility Criteria:

 

  • A genuine passion for Electrical Systems within the operational context of steel manufacturing and distribution.
  • Australian/NZ citizenship or a visa granting unlimited working rights.
  • Completion of an Australian tertiary degree within the past three years (or set to conclude in 2025).
  • Less than two years of full-time, discipline-specific work experience.
