Production Supervisor

About the role

Our Production Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective manufacturing through the overall supervision, coordination and engagement of the workforce.

 

You will be working with a motivated and experienced site leadership team who have autonomy in their respective roles. This role has genuine career progression for the right candidate, today’s supervisor will be tomorrow’s operations manager.

Hours for this role are flexible with start times between 6 am and 8 am to ensure overlap across all 3 shifts.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Leading and managing the shift to ensure the production and output is met
  • Ensuring all WHS management system requirements are met and safety standards are maintained
  • Managing costs to ensure delivery is met in the most cost-effective manner
  • Allocating appropriate manning and ensuring employees are trained, fit, qualified and competent to effectively run operations
  • Ensuring the operation is working in adherence with site safety policies, procedures, and critical elements.

 

You are an experienced leader with a background in manufacturing or other associated heavy industry.  You will be highly skilled in building strong internal and external relationships, responding to frequent changes in priorities and have a solution-oriented mindset.   

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Proven experience supervising or managing a large team in a manufacturing environment
  • Extensive experience in driving cultural change and developing the capability of the team
  • Experience working in a unionised environment is desirable
  • High level problem solving, conflict resolution and people management skills
  • Experience with implementation of lean systems and process improvement
  • Solid understanding of safety management systems and building the safety culture
  • Ability to use computer systems including Microsoft suite and proprietary systems
  • High degree of commercial and business acumen
