Process Engineer

About the role

Reporting to the Technical Superintendent, the Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the systems, standards, and equipment related to safety, quality and plant performance are under control.

You will play an active role in solving production issues as well as lead a variety of continuous improvement initiatives that require you to engage stakeholders across several teams and business levels.


You will be a strong Engineering practitioner, who stays abreast of the latest trends in operational strategies, technology and who understands how the processes and systems under their influence affect the higher-level plant KPIs that contribute to our success. You will be able to establish yourself as the technical specialist within the mill and continue to grow within the role and have a long term career within InfraBuild.

About your experience

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, ideally in Mechanical, Chemical or Metallurgy
  • 5 years Engineering experience preferably in a manufacturing environment or heavy industry
  • Experience in Steel manufacturing and design of the rolling process would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability using data analysis and investigation
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent computer skills and exposure to statistical tools and process modelling
  • Experience with leading successful teams.
